At Confident Start Academy, we believe that the transition into formal schooling should be a positive, empowering experience for every child.

The early years of learning play a critical role in shaping a child’s confidence, curiosity, and academic foundations. When children feel prepared and capable from the very beginning, they are more likely to develop a lifelong love of learning.

Confident Start Academy was created to support this important stage by providing structured, small-group programs that intentionally build the essential skills children need before entering primary school.

Our approach focuses on developing early literacy, foundational numeracy, fine motor skills, independence, and social confidence within a calm, supportive learning environment.

A Teacher-Led Approach

Unlike many tutoring or school readiness programs, Confident Start Academy is designed and led by a qualified primary educator with experience in early years education and classroom instruction.

This means every lesson is intentionally designed to align with what children are expected to know and be able to do when they begin school.

Through carefully planned activities, guided practice, and supportive instruction, children develop both the academic foundations and the self-confidence needed to succeed in a classroom environment.

We believe children learn best when they feel seen, supported, and encouraged.

For this reason, all sessions are delivered in small groups of no more than four children. This allows each child to receive personalised guidance while still benefiting from the social learning that comes from working alongside peers.

Within this setting, children have the opportunity to practice important skills such as listening, taking turns, following instructions, and participating in group learning.

School readiness goes beyond learning letters and numbers.

At Confident Start Academy, we also focus on developing the habits and skills that help children thrive in a classroom setting, including:
